In 2017, I started a practice of making hair accessories, conducting interviews of women of color, and having them try on these accessories while they talk about their hair journey. These pieces are made out of hand sawed (and drilled) wood, hand-spun and manufactured yarn. I used various basketry techniques to connect yarn and wood together.
